We can now accept contributions!

Hello Friends,

I’ve been so busy with the start up of this organization and I see that the last time I posted was over a month ago. My apologies. A lot has happened since then, both on a personal front and regarding Enlighten Education. I am in the process of moving which is always a stressor and preparing a place for my daughter to live nearby.

We are in the process of creating an Advisory Committee of friends and experts from various fields to help move our organization forward with their sound advice and counsel. More on that later as the group forms and elects its chairperson.

We are negotiating for space near the Ft. Myers Middle School for our afterschool program which will include tutoring, sports, arts, even cooking and a food bank!

Some of our team members have returned from the north and are actively engaging with our mission. More details on that later.

We have established our bank account and can now receive contributions made out to Enlighten Education Co-op, Inc. We are a non-profit but do not have our 501c3 status yet which means your contribution would not be tax deductible yet. We will soon begin our web-based crowd funding initiative where one can easily contribute online by pushing a few buttons. Stay tuned for details on that.

So much has been done, and contacts made, but unfortunately until they progress further I am not at liberty to provide details. In the meantime let us hear from you regarding any ideas you may have that might help us all to accomplish our creative goals enumerated on this website and soon to be condensed to a brochure.

Remember our motto from the prophet Micah: “do justice, love kindness, walk humbly…”
